Donate to YWCA

As I've mentioned several nail technicians, nail technician students, and I are voluntarily performing pedicure services for the local YWCA in our area. 

The YWCA USA is one of the oldest and largest women’s organizations in the nation, serving over 2 million women, girls, and their families. From lobbying for pay equity and hate crimes legislation to the increased funding for Head Start and the Violence Against Women Act, the YWCA advocates on Capitol Hill while employees and volunteers empower women and girls in our communities.

In order to perform these services we will need to purchase a large amount of products. In addition, we would like to bring formula, diapers (specifically size 5-6), and other baby products with us to donate. Any monetary help towards these expenses, or donations, would be appreciated, however small the amount. It will go a long way in forwarding our cause and bring us closer to our goal of $2,500 in donations.

What a Wonderful World...

I was soo tired this morning I was worried about being upbeat enough to get through the day, but boy was I wrong! I had such a fun day! Started off with a manicure on Valine who I enjoyed talking with SO very much. Then a pedicure for Marie who had a terrible week and needed a relaxing start to her vacation before leaving for Bear Lake. And to finish it all up more mother/daughter pedicures! Plus I was happily surprised to find out several clients have been personally telling instructors how impressed with my pedicures they are. #ilovemyjob #ilovemyclients #pedicure #OPI

Making a Difference

While I was picking up the donations from Harmon's today and waiting in line, I starting talking to a sweet lady about her move to the beautiful northern Idaho to start her dream of an organic farm. I eventually explained what I was picking up groceries for and how we are doing pedicures for the YWCA and bringing donations. She gladly told me that YWCA saved her life. When she left her first husband she was alone with her baby boy and they helped her get back on her feet. I'm so glad that already I've had an opportunity to see the good these donations will do and to know how much these women will appreciate a night of pampering!
